“一是皆以修身为本”:家国天下的个体递归 被引量:9

摘要 "家国天下",成为当今中国眷顾传统的一种格式化叙事。但相关表述大多脱离了《大学》的原本语境,成为表达现代国家与国际观念的古典托词。在《大学》语境中,"家国天下"是儒家伦理八目的最后三个环节,因此是一个相对于完整结构的抽离结构。只有在格致诚正修齐治平的递进与递归双向关联中,才有望准确理解家国天下的含义。一般而言,家国天下也只是双向关联中的递进叙事,还需要从天下向修身递归,进而向格致诚正递归,才足以完整理解八目的深刻含义。八目的双向运行,均以修身为关键环节。修身的主体是个体化的。这就将家国天下的群体理路,无论在递进还是递归的过程中,落实在了个体修身的关键支点上。这有利于优化儒家伦理的集体导向定论,也有利于凸显其现代蕴含。 In China nowadays,“Family,Nation and the World”(jia guo tianxia家国天下)has become a kind of formatted narrative for showing concern for tradition.But most of the formulations referring to it are divorced from its original context in the Great Learning(Daxue大学),only to serve as a classical pretext for conveying modern ideas of nationhood and international relations.In the context of the Daxue,“jia guo tianxia”forms the last three linked segments of the“eight orders”(ba mu八目)of Confucian ethics,making it a detached structure that stands in relation to a complete one.Only in the progressive and recursive bidirectional associations of“investigating phenomena and acquiring knowledge”(ge zhi格致),“being sincere and being upright”(cheng zheng诚正),“cultivating the self and managing the household”(xiu qi修齐),and“governing the state and pacifying the world”(zhi ping治平),can the meaning of“jia guo tianxia”be comprehended accurately.Generally speaking,“jia guo tianxia”is just the progressive narrative of these bidirectional associations,and still requires a recursion from the world toward the cultivation of the self,and furthermore a recursion toward“ge zhi”and“cheng zheng,”to be sufficient for a full understanding of the profound meaning of the“ba mu.”The bidirectional operation of the“ba mu”always takes selfcultivation as its key link.The subject of self-cultivation is individualized.It takes the collective logic of“jia guo tianxia,”whether in the progressive or in the recursive process,and implements it in the key fulcrum of individual self-cultivation.This is conducive to optimizing the collective-oriented prescriptions of Confucian ethics and highlights its contemporary implications.
