摘要
智能制造被视为产业结构升级和经济转型的重要技术路径。然而,智能制造在微观企业层面的效应仍不明确,表现出新“索洛悖论”困境。以企业最关注的财务绩效为着眼点,基于智能制造试点示范行动,采用交错双重差分(Staggered DID)模型系统考察智能制造对企业绩效的影响及企业家精神这一互补行为动因层面的边界作用。研究发现:智能制造在短期内主要表现为挤占效应,抑制企业绩效的提升,但从长期来看,能够显著促进企业绩效改善;调节机制分析显示,企业家精神显著缓解了智能制造对企业绩效的短期抑制效应;异质性分析发现,智能制造的短期抑制效应在装备制造业、规模较大、非常规技能员工占比较少及信息基础设施较弱的企业中更为显著,且企业家精神的作用也有异同。拓展分析说明,与协同型智能制造相比,生产型智能制造对企业绩效的抑制作用相对更强;智能制造对企业数字创新的促进作用显著,部分抵消了其对绩效的负面影响。研究结论对企业通过弘扬企业家精神应对短期绩效挑战、破解微观层面的新“索洛悖论”以及推动“中国式管理理论”的构建具有重要启示意义。
Intelligent manufacturing is widely regarded as a critical technological pathway for industrial upgrading and economic transformation.However,its impact at the micro-level of firms remains ambiguous,reflecting a new manifestation of the“Solow Paradox”.Focusing on firms’financial performance—a core concern for enterprises,it systematically investigated the effects of intelligent manufacturing on firm performance.Leveraging the staggered difference-in-differences(DID)model within the context of China’s intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration initiative,it also examined the boundary role of entrepreneurial spirit as a complementary behavioral driver.The findings show that,in the short term,intelligent manufacturing primarily exhibits a crowding-out effect,suppressing firm performance,but in the long term,it significantly enhances performance improvement.The result of moderating mechanisms indicates that entrepreneurial spirit effectively alleviates the short-term negative impact of intelligent manufacturing on firm performance.Heterogeneity analysis results reveals that the short-term suppressive effect of intelligent manufacturing is more pronounced in large firms,equipment manufacturing,firms with a lower proportion of unconventional skilled employees,and those in regions with weaker information infrastructure,with the moderating effect of entrepreneurial spirit also varying across these firms.Further analysis shows that compared to collaborative intelligent manufacturing,production-oriented intelligent manufacturing has a stronger suppressive effect on firm performance.Additionally,intelligent manufacturing significantly promotes digital innovation,partially offsetting its negative impact on performance.The conclusions provide significant insights into how firms can leverage entrepreneurial spirit to address short-term performance challenges,resolve the micro-level implications of the new“Solow Paradox”,and contribute to the development of a distinctive“Chinese management theory”.
