教学竞赛调节下的外语教师教学学术能力发展研究 被引量:2

Exploring the Mechanism of Foreign Language Teachers’ScholarshipAbility of Teaching and Learning in Teaching Contests

摘要 教学学术能力指以教学实践为基础,以批判性反思为要求,以教学研究为路径,以交流共享为载体,以卓越教学为目标的教学可持续发展能力。虽然教学竞赛对外语教学质量的提升有促进作用,但鲜有研究探讨其如何调节外语教师教学学术能力的发展。本研究基于社会文化理论,采用自我叙事的研究方法,阐释了本文第一作者在11年间参与三种不同类型外语教学竞赛的经历。为增强可信度,本研究邀请第二作者作为评判性同事参与数据分析与校验。研究发现,参赛教师通过充分感知和积极调用竞赛这一特定社会情境中的各类资源,获得了教学学术概念的发展以及能力的提升。本研究为外语教师如何通过教学竞赛获得职业发展提供了借鉴。 Scholarship ability of Teaching and Learning refers to the sustainable development ability of teaching and learning based on teaching practice,critical reflection,teaching research,communication and sharing,and the goal of teaching excellence.Although the facilitating effects of teaching contests on improving the quality of foreign language teaching is well recognized,few studies have explored how they regulate foreign language teachers’development scholarship ability of teaching and learning.Taking a self-narrative method,the current study focused on the experience of the first author who took part in three different types of teaching contests during eleven years from the perspective of Sociocultural Theory.To enhance credibility,the second author was invited to participate in the data analysis and calibration as a judgmental colleague in this study.Results show that foreign language teachers’scholarship ability of teaching and learning in the unique social situation of teaching contests was achieved when the teacher participant perceived the mediation completely and took action actively.The study may shed light on how foreign language teachers in tertiary education gain professional development via teaching contests.
