摘要
民国时期,中国学人曾就科学精神和科学家精神做过诸多探究。他们绝大多数采用“科学精神”术语,只有少数人使用“科学家精神”之类的词汇。其实,科学精神与科学家精神虽然有某些交集,但并不是一回事。从历史来源、普遍性、独特性和稳定性、内强性和内生性、精神的固有和保有五个视角看,二者在概念的内涵和外延上有较大差异。在命名和表述科学蕴含的精神或从事科学研究必须具备的精神时,采用科学精神的术语是比较合适、比较恰当的。
During the period of the Republic of China,Chinese scholars had done many researches on the spirit of science and the spirit of scientists.Most of them used the term“scientific spirit”,only a few used terms like“scientist spirit”.In fact,although the spirit of science and the spirit of scientists have some intersection,but they are not the same thing.From the five perspectives of historical origin,universality,uniqueness and stability,internal strength and endogeneity,and inherent and retention of spirit,the two concepts have great differences in connotation and extension.It is more appropriate to use the term of scientific spirit when naming and expressing the spirit contained in science or the spirit necessary to engage in scientific research.
