摘要高等教育虚拟国际化是一场由数字技术发展引发的高等教育国际化模式的重要变革。国外国际化和在地国际化模式难以满足市场需求、高等教育国际化的内生性发展需要数字技术赋能、新冠肺炎疫情倒逼高等教育国际化模式作出转变,这些因素共同推动着高等教育国际化从“国外国际化”到“在地国际化”再向“虚拟国际化”模式转变。通过对国内外相关文献进行梳理,以此对虚拟国际化进行内涵阐述,并系统分析高等教育虚拟国际化的特点,包括虚拟国际化所形成的新的社会协作关系、营造新的跨文化环境、支持线上与线下教学模式融合的创新发展。同时,新的国际化领域的兴起也带来了新的挑战,高等教育虚拟国际化需要进一步深化学生学习空间环境建设、支持高等教育虚拟国际化的高质量与包容性发展。 Virtual internationalization of higher education is an important change in the internationalization mode of higher education triggered by the development of digital technology.Because foreign internationalization and local internationalization cannot meet the market demand,the endogenous development of international education needs the empowerment of digital technology,and the COVID-19 epidemic forced the internationalization mode of higher education to change,which jointly promoted the internationalization of higher education to change from the“virtual internationalization”mode after“foreign internationalization”and“local internationalization”.By combing the relevant literature at home and abroad,this paper expounds the connotation of virtual internationalization,and systematically analyzes the characteristics of virtual internationalization of higher education,including the new social cooperation relationship formed by virtual internationalization,the creation of a new cross-cultural environment,and the innovative development of supporting the integration of online and offline teaching models.At the same time,the rise of new internationalization fields has also brought new challenges.The virtual internationalization of higher education needs to further deepen the construction of students'learning space environment and support the high-quality and inclusive development of virtual internationalization of higher education.
