摘要
在自动化和人工智能时代,尤其是聊天生成型预训练转换器(ChatGPT)一类工具广泛使用的时期,批判性思维对整个社会和个体的重要性更加凸显。社会大众有必要从信息消费者转变为批判性信息消费者。虽然ChatGPT一类大语言模型(LLM)可以帮助甚至代替人做很多事,但其批判性思维能力目前还比较薄弱。今天,批判性思维是一种“短缺供应”,而在未来数十年,对它的需求仍然是增长趋势。很多国际组织(尤其是联合国)、教育机构和智库,都将批判性思维列为21世纪技能和教育的主要目标。企业界把批判性思维作为选择雇员的一个考察指标。可以说,在世界范围内已经形成一种全球共识——批判性思维是自动化和人工智能时代必不可少的一项技能。我们的教育,尤其是高等教育必须就此作出妥当应对。
In the age of automation and artificial intelligence,especially the widespread use of tools such as ChatGPT,the importance of critical thinking for society as a whole and for individuals has been highlighted.It is necessary for the public to change from information consumers to critical information consumers.Although large language models(LLM)like ChatGPT can help or even replace people to do a lot of things,its critical thinking ability is still weak at present.Critical thinking is in"short supply"today,and it will continue to be in growing demand for the following decades.Many international organizations(especially the United Nations),educational institutions and think tanks,have identified critical thinking as the main goal of 21st century skills and educational objectives.The business community is using critical thinking as a yardstick for selecting employees.It can be said that there is a global consensus that critical thinking is an essential skill in the age of automation and artificial intelligence.Our education,especially higher education,must respond appropriately.
