摘要
本文以Risager的语言教材文化呈现分析方法作为理论框架,选取前3个维度,即国家研究、公民教育研究和文化研究,采用内容分析方法对比分析中外各两套大学英语教材的文化呈现。研究发现:国内、国外教材均重视国际文化和母语文化,呈现方式上“顺便”和“间接”数量基本持平,“清晰”数量前者略低于后者;国内外教材基本呈现人类共同关注的主要问题,其分布和呈现还可更加均衡、深化;国内外教材呈现多元的文化身份和社会身份,其性别、宗教、种族、民族等方面还可更加系统、全面。
Taking Risager's cultural representation method of language textbooks as the theoretical framework,this paper selects the first three dimensions,namely national studies,citizenship education studies,and cultural studies,and uses the content analysis method to compare and analyze the cultural representation of English textbooks in China and abroad,and finds that:(1)both domestic and foreign textbooks attach importance to international culture and native culture,and the number of"mentioned in passing"and"indirect"in representation is basically the same,and the number of"explicit"is slightly lower than the latter;(2)Both domestic and foreign textbooks basically present the main issues of common concern to mankind,but their distribution and presentation need to be more balanced and in-depth;(3)All the textbooks present diverse cultural and social identities,but are still not systematic and comprehensive enough in terms of gender,religion,race,ethnicity,etc.Finally,some suggestions for domestic college English textbook writers are put forward.It is suggested to expand the coverage and proportion of international culture continuously,with special emphasis on international organizations and countries along the Belt and Road;to broaden the scope of attention to key issues in the world,such as increasing more successful cases of China's poverty alleviation,expanding historical themes,involving more topics of fairness and justice,etc.;to explore the in-depth cultural and social identities,such as breaking the stereotypes of social identities between men and women,expanding the introduction of the world's major religions and the diversity of racism,integrating the culture of ethnic minorities of China,etc.
