Gatekeeping Theory in Media Sociology: An Evolution

摘要本文以"重访"怀特的把关人研究为起点,考察70年来把关理论的形成、演化和再造过程。经由这一过程,它从一个引介的社会心理学概念逐渐拓展为一套在新闻研究中颇具解释力的中层理论。在数字媒体时代,把关理论的思想渊源和知识传统依然影响着后续的发展。对经典研究的"重访"不是为了单纯地返回过去,而是希望通过对历史线索的发掘和延伸,为当下的研究提供新的理论资源和分析视角。 This paper examines the formation, evolution, and reconstruction of the gatekeeping theory over the past 70 years. Through this process, it has been a middle-range theory in journalism studies. In the era of digital media, the ideological origin and intellectual tradition of gatekeeping theory still affect the subsequent development. Revisiting the classic theory is not to simply return to the past, but to hope to provide new theoretical resources and analytical perspectives for current research.
