摘要
韦努蒂从德国重异质的翻译传统、德里达的解构哲学以及文化研究中汲取养分,构筑自己的翻译研究。拨开这一研究中解构、后殖民、文化翻译等各种理论的多样性与复杂性的云翳,我们可以清晰地发现由诸多术语形成的链条:通顺翻译、译者的隐形、症候式阅读、异化翻译、反常式翻译、对抗式翻译、翻译之耻、少数族语言的翻译、语言剩余、文化身份的形成、存异伦理、因地制宜的伦理。韦努蒂以这些逐级提升、环环相扣的术语所形成的链条生成了自己独特的翻译研究及翻译体系,他正是以此种方式促进翻译学术界正视并重视翻译理论研究与翻译实践所具有的重大理论价值,并加速翻译研究由学术的边缘向中心移动的步伐。
Lawrence Venuti＇s translation theory is based on the German tradition of foreigness, Derrida＇s deconstruction and translation studies. In this way, a chain of terms could be clearly found in the course of the development in his translation thoughts, that is, from the translator＇s invisibility, symptomatic reading, foreignizing translation, abusive fidelity, the scandals of translation, remainder, minoritizing translation, the cultural identities of translation, ethics of difference, to ethics of location. With these progressive discourses, Venuti lays special stress on the theoretical value of translation and helps to speed up the steps with which translation moves toward the centre of academy from the periphery.
