摘要
针对民航专业英语的高度限制和相对稳定的体裁特征,为了满足民航专业学生未来的民航英语使用需求,本文提出并讨论了利用民航专业英语微型语料库开展体裁教学的协调新模式,并在某学院航空工程系进行了课堂实践。通过批阅学生的项目汇报作业,笔者发现学生能较好地解读文本的体裁、熟悉相关的专业术语。这一模式也有助于发展学生的自主学习能力。期望本文的发现能对民航专业英语及其他的ESP教学提供一定的启示。
As Aviation English is a highly restricted and relatively stable register,in order to address the professional language needs of future aviation major students,a novel framework for mediating aviation mini-corpus-based genre analysis has been developed.This model will be presented and discussed in this paper,and it has been implemented in the Aviation Department of X College.Feedback from student projects underlines the positive effects of such a linguistics-informed approach beneficial to aviation majors.Following this model,students can better understand the specialized aviation corpora regarding specific genres and aviation related phraseology.This model is also likely to empower students to develop autonomous language capabilities.It is hoped that the findings of this paper can provide some enlightenment for the teaching of English for Civil Aviation and other ESP courses.
