论高等教育学创始人潘懋元的贡献与意义

摘要潘懋元先生是中国高等教育学学科创建人,他对高等教育学学科的贡献是系统和持久的:作为高等教育学学科的首创者,他第一个提出建立高等教育学,并主编了中国乃至世界第一部高等教育学专著;作为高等教育学系统的设计师,他对高等教育学的体系、内容乃至制度进行了系统设计和规划;作为高等教育学理论的播种机,他几十年不遗余力地宣传、推广高等教育学,为这门新学科奔走呐喊;作为高等教育学发展的领航人,他在各个时期高等教育学学科建设和问题研究的各个领域都发挥了引领和推动作用;作为高等教育学地位的捍卫者,他以一个教育家的战略眼光,理性面对危机、主动化解危机,坚守和捍卫了高等教育学的相对独立地位。无论对中国高等教育研究,还是对世界高等教育研究而言,高等教育学的意义都是毋庸置疑的。只有深刻理解和认识高等教育学的意义,才可能深刻理解和认识潘懋元在中国乃至整个世界高等教育研究史的地位和意义。 Mr.Pan Maoyuan was the founder of Higher Education in China who made a systematic and lasting contribution on the discipline of higher education:as the pioneer of Higher Education,he was the first man who advocated establishing the higher education and edited the first monograph on Higher Education in China and even in the world;as the designer of Higher Education system,he made a comprehensive design for the system,content and institution of Higher Education;as the seeder of Higher Education theory,he spared no efforts to propagate the new Higher Education and shouted for it for decades;as the leader of Higher Education development,he played a leading and driving role in the area of discipline construction and problem research at the time;as the defender of the status of Higher Education,he faced the crisis rationally and resolved the crisis proactively with the strategic vision of an educator to safeguarded and stuck to the relatively independent status for Higher Education.No matter for Chinese higher education research or the world higher education research,the significance of Higher Education is unquestionable.Only when we have a deep understanding of the significance of Higher Education,can we comprehend the position and significance of Pan Maoyuan profoundly in the history of higher education research in China and even the whole world.
