The advent of antiretroviral therapy (ART) prolongs the life of more and more HIV-infected people and greatly reduces the morbidity and mortality of AIDS-related diseases to a certain extent. How-ever, with the increase of age of AIDS patients, the incidence of various chronic complications (hy-pertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, etc.) is increasing. Traditional risk factors, the appli-cation of ART and the long-term chronic inflammation and immune activation caused by HIV have seriously affected the metabolism of blood lipids and blood glucose in AIDS patients, and various chronic complications resulting from this have gradually become the main cause of death in AIDS patients. Therefore, it is urgent for people to understand the characteristics of glucose and lipid metabolism in AIDS patients, and to carry out early intervention to improve the survival and prog-nosis of patients. This paper reviews the research status of blood lipid and blood glucose metabo-lism in AIDS patients at home and abroad.
