摘要
修辞学和翻译研究,尤其是翻译理论研究,历来有着紧密的联系,翻译活动的实质是跨文化的修辞活动。然而纵观国内外研究,对修辞学和翻译理论之间关系的探讨始终鲜有人着墨。文章将摘选西方修辞学发展历程中的四个重要阶段,尝试以修辞学为视角,考察其对翻译理论的影响。依据每个阶段修辞学发展的背景以及主要修辞学家的修辞思想在该时期翻译理论上的映射,进而厘清修辞学和翻译理论二者之间的关系。
Rhetoric and translation studies, especially translation theories, have been closely connected, and translation activities are cross-cultural rhetorical activities in essence. However, up to now, few studies both at home and abroad have been carried out on the relation between them. In this paper, we made efforts to refine classical and new rhetoric's influence on translation theories in the scope of four important stages in rhetoric history. On the basis of the background of rhetoric development in each stage, major rhetoricians' rhetorical thoughts and influence on translation theories in each period are crucial factors applied to make clear the relation between rhetoric and translation theories.
