摘要
斗牛是黔东南地区苗族的一项传统习俗,通常在鼓藏节期间举行。此习俗的形成,据认为与苗族的祖先崇拜有关。参与决斗的雄性水牛被视为生命与力量的象征,获胜意味着无尽荣光和好运,而落败者则往往难逃被宰杀祭祖、分食的宿命。对于当地人而言,斗牛场既是公牛一决生死的炼狱,也是他们展示自我、追逐生命力量的乐园。而在更深的层面上,这种周期性的节日狂欢,则是“地无三尺平”的山地社会整合其社会关系的重要平台。现当代以来,尽管黔东南苗族的斗牛习俗融入了诸多现代性因素,但其传承和发展的社会基础仍然较为厚实。在地理条件复杂、文化多样性特点显著、经济发展状况特殊的少数民族农村地区实现中国式现代化,需要借助民族传统文化表现形式的力量,推动城乡社会的交流与融合。
Bullfighting is a traditional custom of the Miao people in Southeast Guizhou,usually held during the Guzang Festival(an ancestor-worshipping celebration).The formation of this custom is believed to be related to the Miao people's ancestor worship.The male water buffalo participating in the duel is regarded as a symbol of life and strength.Victory signifies endless glory and good fortune,while the defeated often face the fate of being slaughtered for ancestor worship and shared consumption.For the locals,the bullfighting arena is both a purgatory where bulls fight for their lives and a paradise where they display themselves and pursue the power of life.On a deeper level,this cyclical festive revelry serves as an important platform for the integration of social relations in the mountain so-ciety where"there is few flat area."Upon entering modern times,although the bullfighting custom of the Miao people in Southeast Guizhou has incorporated many modern elements,its social foundation for inheritance and develop-ment remains relatively solid.To achieve Chinese-type modernization in the rural areas of ethnic minorities with complex geographical conditions,significant cultural diversity,and varied economic development,it is necessary to rely on the power of traditional ethnic cultural expressions to promote the exchange and integration of urban and ru-ral societies.
