摘要
探讨ESG(环境、社会和治理)评级提升企业绿色创新能力的影响效应和作用机制,对于推动企业绿色转型具有重要意义。借助商道融绿首次发布ESG评级的准自然实验,以2009—2022年中国A股上市公司数据为样本,运用多时点双重差分法构建模型分析ESG评级如何影响企业的绿色创新活动。同时考察企业外部环境规制和内部管理监督在ESG评级对企业绿色创新影响进程中的调节作用。研究发现,ESG评级能够显著提高企业绿色创新,无论是从外部环境规制还是企业内部监管角度来看,加强这些方面的措施都可以有效放大ESG评级对增强企业绿色创新能力的正面影响。异质性研究表明,对于东部地区企业、国有企业和重污染行业的企业而言,ESG评级为绿色创新带来的积极影响更加突出。为此,企业需要把握ESG发展与绿色创新机遇,积极履行社会责任,加速绿色化转型步伐。
It is of great significance to explore the impact and mechanism of ESG(environment,social and governance)rating to improve enterprises’green innovation ability,which is of great significance to promote enterprises’green transformation.Based on the quasi-natural experiment of ESG rating released by SynTao Green Finance for the first time,the data of China’s A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2022 was used as samples to build a model to analyze how ESG rating affects enterprises’green innovation activities by using multi-time-point differential method.At the same time,the moderating effects of external environmental regulation and internal management supervision on the impact of ESG rating on corporate green innovation are also investigated.It is found that ESG rating can significantly improve enterprises’green innovation.Whether from the perspective of external environmental regulation or internal supervision,measures to strengthen these aspects can effectively amplify the positive impact of ESG rating on enhancing enterprises’green innovation ability.Heterogeneity research shows that for enterprises in the eastern region,state-owned enterprises and enterprises in heavily polluting industries,the positive impact of ESG rating on green innovation is more prominent.To this end,enterprises need to seize the opportunities of ESG development and green innovation,actively fulfill their social responsibilities,and accelerate the pace of green transformation.
