摘要
以“学院”升格为“大学”作为一项“准自然实验”,利用273所地方高校2006—2016年招生录取分数线的面板数据,构建多期双重差分模型检验院校升格对高校生源质量的影响,研究发现:院校升格能够显著提升高校的生源质量;在不同的高校类型中,院校升格能够显著提高文科类和理工类高校的生源质量,对综合类高校的生源质量没有显著影响;在不同升格更名类型的高校中,院校升格显著提高了仅将“学院”更名为“大学”的高校的生源质量,但对行业特色改变或地区与行业特色都改变的高校的生源质量没有产生显著影响,而对于地区范围改变的高校的生源质量可能存在一定的负效应。
Taking the upgrading of“college”to“university”as a“quasi-natural experiment”,the panel data of 273 local undergraduate institutions from 2006 to 2016 were used to test the impact of the upgrading of institutions on the quality of students by applying the multi-period difference-in-differences(DID)method.The findings show that institutional upgrading can significantly improve the quality of college enrollment;in different types of universities,institutional upgrading can significantly improve the quality of humanities and science and technology universities,but has no significant impact on comprehensive universities;in different types of upgrading and renaming universities,institutional upgrading significantly improves the quality of universities that only change their name from“college”to“university”,but has no significant impact on universities that change their industry characteristics or regional and industry characteristics,and may have a certain negative impact on universities that change their regional scope.
