摘要
基于认知语言学的理论框架,探讨《伤寒杂病论》脾胃病相关术语的英译方法。中医术语中,脾胃病的概念不仅涉及器官的生理功能,还体现了中医整体论中的气血生成与脏腑相互作用的复杂性。通过认知语言学的整体性认知理论中的概念隐喻、语境调节等方法,译者能够准确地传递中医理论的内涵,避免字面翻译可能造成的误解。进一步,以《伤寒杂病论》中的脾胃病条文为例,分析如何在英译过程中应用认知语言学方法更好地说明脾胃病的病因病机。研究发现,认知语言学能够有效帮助译者应对中西文化差异,提高译文的准确性和可理解性,有助于促进中医文化的国际传播。
This study explores the application of cognitive linguistics(CL)in translating the terms related to Pi(spleen)and Wei(stomach)diseases in Shanghan Zabing Lun.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)terminology,especially regarding Pi(spleen)and Wei(stomach)diseases,encompasses complex concepts involving not only the physiological functions of organs but also their interaction with Qi(vital energy)and Xue(nourishing blood),reflecting the holistic nature of TCM.Through the holistic cognition in CL,methods of conceptual metaphor,contextual adjustment can enable translators to more accurately convey the underlying TCM theories and avoid misunderstandings caused by literal translations.Using Pi and Wei diseases as examples,this study analyzes how CL can help in translating these terms while maintaining their medical context.The study concludes that CL offers effective strategies for overcoming cross-cultural differences in TCM translation,improving the accuracy and comprehensibility of the translated text,and contributing to the international dissemination of Chinese medicine.
