The Coordinated Development of China’s Bidirectional FDI and the Quality of Export Products by Enterprises under the Background of Dual Circulation

摘要 “双循环”新发展格局背景下,探讨双向FDI协调发展的出口产品质量效应,对于培育提高贸易竞争力的新动能、建设贸易强国具有重要意义。本文基于中国工业企业数据与中国海关数据,实证检验我国双向FDI协调发展与企业出口产品质量之间的影响关系与作用机制。研究发现:双向FDI的协调发展显著促进了我国出口产品质量的提升;机制分析发现,双向FDI协调发展有助于推动产业结构高级化,增强产业专业化集聚效应,提高市场竞争程度,促进我国出口产品质量升级。此外,双向FDI协调发展对企业出口产品质量的提升效应也存在不同程度的区域异质性和企业特征异质性。 Under the background of the new development pattern of"dual circulation",exploring the quality effect of export products through coordinated development of two-way FDI is of great significance for cultivating new driving forces to improve trade competitiveness and building a strong trading country.Based on data from Chinese industrial enterprises and Chinese customs,a bidirectional fixed effects estimation method was used to examine the impact relationship and mechanism between the coordinated development of bidirectional FDI in China and the quality of exported products.Research has found that the coordinated development of two-way FDI has significantly promoted the improvement of China’s export product quality,and this conclusion has passed the robustness test;Mechanism analysis reveals that the coordinated development of two-way FDI helps to promote the upgrading of industrial structure,enhance the agglomeration effect of industrial specialization,improve market competition,and ultimately promote the upgrading of China’s export product quality.In addition,the coordinated development of two-way FDI has varying degrees of regional heterogeneity and enterprise characteristic heterogeneity in improving the quality of exported products.
