摘要
当前博物馆历史文物名称的英文翻译版本多种多样,该文主要聚焦陕西省历史博物馆、大英博物馆以及纽约大都会博物馆中部分文物名称的中英文蓝本,分析两种翻译技巧,指出文物英文译名中语义缺失与不对等现象,为文物名称的外译提供有益参考,使历史文物在中华文化传播过程中能够更好地讲述中国故事。
The current English translation version of the name of the museum historical relics are diverse,this paper mainly focus on the Chinese and English name of cultural relics in Shaanxi Provincial History Museum,British Museum,and New York Metropolitan Museum,analyzing two kinds of translation skills,pointing out the semantic loss and semantic asymmetry in the cultural relics’English translation.It could provide a reference for translation of names of cultural relics,enabling the historical relics to tell a better Chinese story in the process of spreading Chinese culture.
