摘要
新文化运动所谓“吃人的礼教”并非泛指儒家礼教,而是特指专制权力的“礼教”。儒家礼教的本意乃是“育人”,即用一套社会规范及其制度来教育人们,以规范人们的行为。当然,礼教在皇权制度下确实曾经沦为“吃人”“以理杀人”的东西。因此,今天应当在走向现代性之际重建儒家礼教。重建礼教的理论依据乃是儒家“制度伦理学”原理——“中国正义论”,而其现实依据则是现代生活方式对于社会规范的时代要求。
The so-called"the education of the Rites to eat people"in New Culture Movement is not a general reference to Confucian Education of the Rites,but a specific reference to the autocratic power′s"Education of the Rites".The original intention of Confucian Education of the Rites is"to educate people",i.e.to educate people with a set of social norms and its institutions so as to regulate people′s behaviors.It is a fact that,under the imperial system,the Education of the Rites was actually reduced to the thing"to eat people"and"to kill people with the Principles".However,the Education of the Rites should be reconstructed on the way to modernity today.The theoretical basis of the reconstruction of the Education of the Rites is the principles of Confucian"institutional ethics",namely,"Chinese justice theory",and the realistic basis of that is the requirements of modern life-style for social norms.
