摘要
文化地理研究文化与地理之间的相互作用。将文化地理纳为文学研究视角,引发了文学批评的爆发式创新,催生出文学地图、文学景观、地理诗学、空间批评等一系列跨学科文学研究。而文化地理之所以能够激发文学批评的创新活力,一方面源于文学与地理之间天然的内在关联,另一方面也源于文化地理学强烈的自我更新、自我超越的气质和动力:这种气质和动力不仅使文化地理自身经历了从旧文化地理到新文化地理、再到非表征文化地理的裂变和发展,而且这种不断质疑和革新的精神也与文学批评所秉承的反思传统一拍即合,促成了文化地理的“文化转向”与文学研究的“空间转向”的对接和碰撞,二者在对话和交流中滋养了彼此学科的内涵,也促进了文学地理学交叉学科的深化和发展。
Cultural Geography studies the interaction between culture and geography.This interaction enables cultural geography to undergo three paradigm shifts:Berkeley School Cultural Geography,New Cultural Geography and Non-Representational Geography.Integrating cultural geography into literary criticism creates many new ideas:literary mapping,literary landscape,geo-criticism,spatial criticism and other interdisciplinary studies.This burgeoning geo-criticism and geo-poetics arise both out of the natural connection between literature and geography,and out of the self-transfbrmation of cultural geography coupled with the sell-interrogation and self-reflection of literary criticism.When the Cultural Turn in Cultural Geography encounters the Spatial Turn in literary studies,the dialogue and exchange between Cultural Geography and literary studies enrich each other and promote the development of the literary geography.
