摘要
通过新见历史档案、报刊文献,清理和还原国立西北联合大学母体与子体演化的历史脉络,重新反思和认识其在中国高等教育发展史上的重要地位。研究结果表明:1937年9月10日成立的国立西安临时大学—国立西北联合大学母体与其子体,即国立西北五校——国立西北工学院、国立西北农学院、国立西北大学、国立西北师范学院、国立西北医学院从1937年临大成立至1946年各自回迁复校,具有分而有合的紧密联系,是一个完整的研究客体。其母体与子体在大西北历时九年艰苦卓绝的办学过程,形成了人文社科、理工农医完整学科体系和教育体系,拥有505名教授和1 489名员工的师资队伍,毕业学生9 257人,五校均开始招收研究生,奠定了中国西北高等教育的基础,并为21世纪的西部大开发储备了人力资本。
Through historical archive, newly-found press and literature, this paper analyses and restores the historical division and unity of Northwest National University as the Alma Mater and its significance in Chinag higher education. The results show： Xi＇an National Temporary University-Northwest National Associated University was founded on Sep. 10, 1937, which also mothered five other universities including Northwest National Engineering College, Northwest National Agricultural College, Northwest National University, Northwest National Normal University and Northwest National Medical College. As a close-knit body, it is rational to take them as a study subject, which spans from 1936 to 1947. In these nine years, the integrated system boasts 505 professors, 1489 employees and cultivates 9,257 graduates in the field of humanity, social science, technology, agriculture and medicine and these five universities all have graduate programs. They have laid the foundation for the higher education in northwest China and accumulated talents for the development of the western regions of China in the 21＇t century.
