摘要
针对英语格律诗的翻译方法问题,文章在对《墓园挽歌》两篇译文的效果进行分析的基础上,指出在翻译英语格律诗的过程中,译者只有采用现代汉语格律诗的形式,通过移植原诗的格律,使译文尽可能地达到形式对等,才能充分展现原文的美,达到真正意义上的内容对等。
This paper aims to explore the importance of formal equivalence in English metrical poetry translation. On the basis of a detailed analysis of two Chinese translations of the first stanza of ＂Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard＂, the author proposes that English metrical poems should be translated by using the form of contemporary Chinese metrical pomes so as to show the beauty of the original poems and acquire meaning equivalence.
