摘要
英汉两种语言符号及其深层结构存在较大的差异 ,因此译者的文化背景知识在翻译过程中起着重要作用 ;译者应根据等效的翻译原则和英汉双语转换的不同情况利用直译、意译。
This paper makes a comparison of different translations of the same text, to demonstrate the differences between Chinese and English in semiotics and in cultural connotation. The paper holds that:firtly, translator's cultural background information plays a very important role in translation; secondly, equivalent translation should be an important principle; third, flexible methods should be applied to overcome cultural barriers in practice of translation
