摘要
                
                    为了进一步探讨"主题突出"及"主语突出"这两种语言分类规律在第二语言习得中的作用,本文着力研究以英语为母语的成人习得汉语"把"字句的过程。本实验由46个以英语为母语,正在学习汉语的成人参加。实验采用三种测试方法:语法判断,"把"字句翻译,及故事陈述。实验结果证明:一、以英语为母语的汉语第二语言习得者在习得"把"字句的过程中对语言分类规律十分敏感。他们首先将其母语的语言分类——主语突出,应用到"把"字句的分析上,之后又逐渐认识到所学语言——汉语,是属于不同的语言类别,即主题突出的语言。二、第二语言习得者的这种从主语突出到主题突出的"把"字句习得过程说明语言转移(language transfer)并不是杂乱的由某一种相互无联系的结构到另一种结构的转移,而是在语言分类规律层次上的转移。三、本实验的语法判断及"把"字句运用测试进一步说明"把"字句的习得过程经历了三个阶段。
                
                This paper reports the results of an experimental study of adult second language acquisition which provides evidence that typologies based on Tp/Sp (topic prominent/subject prominent language) of a learner's first language will significantly predict certain aspects of a second language learner's processing and acquisition of Chinese topic structures, such as ba constructions. Results indicate that second language learners are sensitive to differences in Tp/Sp in their first and second language, and that they use this principle to develop various structural aspects of the second language. Pragmaticization which is a process of transfer was also found where the surface structures of the two languages were similar.
