摘要
本文基于意译的本质论证了以形驭意的西语意译成重意轻形的汉语时的四大优势,即传形达意、轻形重意、变形保意、舍形取意,同时讨论了因过度意译而导致陈词滥调、不当胜似及原文新鲜感流失等问题,为此,汉译时要对意译扬长避短。
Chinese is characterized mainly by parataxis while English,Russian and other western languages by hypotaxis.Thus,it is more common to see free translation from foreign languages into Chinese.Based on the essence of free translation,this paper demonstrates in detail four major advantages of free translation from western languages into Chinese—to transfer meanings by transplanting,downplaying,changing,or disregarding forms.The four major advantages of free translation contribute to the dissemination and acceptance of the source language in both semantic and syntactic aspects to different extents.At the same time,this paper discusses problems such as cliché,overstatement and loss of originality due to excessive free translation.Therefore,it is necessary to promote the advantages and avoid the shortcomings of free translation when translating from western languages into Chinese.
