摘要
西方传统形而上学将东方思想仅看作原始的实践智慧,这大大阻碍了东西思想的深度对话。上世纪以来哲学的发展为东西交流开启了新视野。沃格林意识哲学克服了胡塞尔意向性分析的主要缺陷,让超越(存在、不可见的尺度、“神”)问题成为哲学的中心;他通过将存在问题转译为“求索根基”,取消了海德格尔“存在”(即希腊“存在”)的封闭性,并让“根基”问题向整个人类开放。沃格林本人的哲学实践是东西方就终极问题(求索根基)进行对话的典范,他的理论样式也为东西思想交流提供了参考甚至基础。在其意识哲学的观照下,神话、哲学、启示等象征形式都是对同一个超越(存在)的参与,所不同的只是象征形式。哲学作为对实在的智性经验,追求对实在结构的明晰化理解,可以通过客体化的方式关涉其他类型的象征形式,观看、分析其经验内容,令其获得概念性理解。这为我们重新理解东方传统提供了可能性。
The traditional western metaphysics has been taking Oriental thinking for a mode of primative practical wisdom,but betrays some deficiency when launching a theoretical penetration into the oriental materials of thought,this state of affairs sets an impediment for a deeper communication between the highest wisdom of the ancients of both Oriental and Occidental traditions.The development of philosophy achieved during 20th century,however,lays open a new horizon for a more substantial dialogue between the two.Eric Voegelin's philosophy of consciousness overcomes the deficiency of Edmund Husserl's intentional analysis,thus making the problem of Transcendence the central theme of philosophy;He transforms the problem of Being into the problem of the Ground,establishing the equivalence of the Search for Ground for both the Orientals and the Westerners,therefore revealing a common root for the generation of all symbolisms-be it mythical,philosophical,and revelatory-in history of mankind.Voegelin's philosophy of consciousness,being aphilosophy of symbols at the same time,is a paradigm for the dialogue between east and west regarding the ultimate problem,and his theoretical pattern serves as a very efficient instrument for the penetration of the symbolisms of Oriental ancients,thus placing the intellectual discourse of comparative philosophy on a more sturdy foundation.
