摘要
汉语史上"更"语义功能丰富,学界关于其副词功能研究充分,连词功能研究尚薄弱,未见专文讨论。文章详细考察了"更"的让步条件连词、递进连词和并列连词功能的来源与发展。认为让步条件连词功能源于表"再"义的重复副词,其中"更"在"更XP也VP"格式中被理解为极量,且从元明开始,表让步条件的"更"逐渐被"再"取代;递进连词功能源于程度副词;并列连词功能源于表"又"义的重复副词。发展出关联副词功能后,"更"进而向连词演变,且在不同语境中发展出不同的连词功能。"更"的三种连词功能典型程度不一,让步条件功能不成熟,并列连词功能一般,递进连词功能最成熟,它是能产的,开放的,建议辞书在以后修订时把"更"的递进连词功能补充上去。
The semantic functions of geng(更)are rich in the history of Chinese.The research on its adverb functions is sufficient,but the research on the conjunction functions is relatively scarc.This paper examines in detail the origin and development of the conjunction functions of geng(更),i.e.,the concessive conditional conjunction,the progressive conjunction and its coordinative conjunction.The function of the concessive conditional conjunction derived from repetitive adverbs meaning zai(再),in which geng(更)is understood as expression the maximum in the construction geng X_(P) ye V_(P).And from the Yuan and Ming Dynasties,the geng(更)expressing concession was gradually replaced by zai(再).The functions of progressive conjunctions derived from degree adverbs.The function of coordinative conjunction derived from the repetitive adverbs of meaning you(又).After the development of the function of correlative adverb function,geng(更)continues to evolve into a conjunction word and develops different conjunction functions in different contexts.The three conjunction functions of geng(更)are different in their degrees of typicality.The concession condition function is immature,and the juxtaposition conjunction function is general.Progressive conjunction function is the most mature,which is productive.It is suggested that dictionaries should include the progressive conjunction function of geng(更).
