摘要
清代的城隍信仰实现了高度组织化,江南各地的城隍信众普遍以董事组织和城隍会的方式开展活动。前者主要负责庙宇的修造和维护,后者主要参与城隍祭祀仪式各环节,它们共同将城市信仰活动与城市社会、城市经济紧密关联在一起。这些有组织化的信仰活动,具体表现为置办祭产,组织信众,分班轮值,修建并维护庙宇,丰富城隍祭祀各环节,为官府、宗族、盐商和普通民众等提供交流活动空间,促进了清代城市社会的发展。城隍会会产的置办,带有浓厚的经济性,不仅有田、地、店铺等多种形式,而且多置办于城市交通便利、商业繁荣的区域,还具有可生息、可继承、可典卖或买卖的特点。总之,清代城隍信仰组织深度参与了城市社会经济的发展过程,是了解传统中国城市社会经济运作的重要窗口。
The city god belief achieved a high degree of organization at Jiang nan in Qing dynasty.The worshippers of the city god generally carried out activities in the form of directors’organization and the city god association.The directors’organization was mainly responsive for temple construction and maintenance,and the city god association was mainly involved in the ritual of the city god.Together,they both closely linked urban faith activities with urban society and urban economy.These organized religious activities were specifically manifested in the purchase of sacrificial offerings,the organization of believers,the division of shift,the construction and maintenance of temples,the enrichment of the links of the city god sacrifice,and the provision of exchange activity space for the government,the clan,the salt merchants and the ordinary people,which promoted the development of the urban society in the Qing dynasty.In addition,the purchase of the city god association,with a strong economic,were not only in a variety of forms,such as fields,land,shops,etc.,but also were located in the region of city traffic convenience and commercial prosperity,and also had the characteristics of interest,inheritance,being saleable or saleable.In a word,the city-god belief organization in Qing dynasty was deeply involved in the process of urban social and economic development,which is an important window to understand the social and economic operation of traditional Chinese cities.
