摘要
本研究选取了两种不同的英译本进行深入的对照和解剖,研究对象是唐代诗人柳宗元的经典著作《江雪》,借助于关联翻译理论作为主要分析工具,旨在探讨和揭示这两种翻译在语言表达、认知语境构建等方面的异同及其所产生的效应。通过细致入微的对照,不仅可以对各版在传达原诗意境上的成功与否作出评价,而且还可以根据自己的理解和解读,洞察译者如何重新创作原文。这样的学习有助于我们在翻译过程中更好地理解文化上的协商和意义上的重构,从而促进古诗文英译的质量和深度的提高。This study focuses on the analysis and comparison of two distinct English translations of the classic work “Jiang Xue” by Tang Dynasty poet Liu Zongyuan. The primary objective is to examine the similarities and differences in language expression, cognitive context construction, and resulting effects between these translations, utilizing the Relevance Translation Theory as a principal analytical framework. Through meticulous comparison, this research aims not only to assess the efficacy of each translation in conveying the original poem’s artistic conception but also to provide insights into how translators reinterpret the source text based on their own understanding and interpretation. Such findings contribute to a deeper understanding of cultural negotiation and meaning reconstruction in translation processes, thereby enriching the quality and depth of English translations of ancient poetry.
