DIVISION AND CORRELATION OF CAMBRIAN SYSTEM IN AKSU-WUSHI DISTRICT OF XINJIANG

摘要 新疆塔里木盆地西北缘阿克苏—乌什地区(图1)寒武纪地层发育较好,主要为一套浅海—滨海相的碳酸盐岩,下、中统化石较为丰富,厚度530余米。 On the basis of the data obtained in the field investigation in 1979 and 1981, the Cambrian system of this region have been redivided. The Lower Cambrian is subdivided into Yurtus Fm, Xorbulak Fm and Wusonggel Fm. The Yurtus Fm is established recently via the discovery of small shells. The Awatag Fm at the middle Cambrin corresponds with the Shaylik Fm of middle Cambrian and Awatag Group of middle-upper Canhrian in the "Regional Stratigraphic Time Table of Xinjiang". We collated and restipulated the age based on the discovery of Chittidilla and Kunmingaspis in the top of it. Acording to continuity of strata from the Cambrian to the Ordovician in north-western Tarim,the upper Cambrian ought to be the chert dolomite without fossils, which primaryly designated to the lower subgroup of Qulitag group of Lower Ordovician. Based on characteristics of trilobitae, the native fauna must belong to Huabei type in the East Region. The lithofacies and paleogeography are characterized by sediments of stable platform. The usefull mineral resources in the Cambrian system include phosphat rocks in the bottom, microelements in the black shall and dolomite and some others.
