吕希安·波亚主编 ,美国纽约格林伍德公司 1 991年出版的《近代国际大史学家》一书 ,收录 1 80 0年以来各国大史学家 6 6 4人 ,其中中国 1 4人 ,李剑农是 1 4人之一。李剑农在史学上的主要贡献 :一是在中国近百年政治史的研究中取得了杰出的成就。所著《中国近百年政治史》曾译成英文 ,为国内外学者广泛引用和参考 ;二是开拓了中国古代经济史的研究。其《中国古代经济史稿》运用唯物史观 ,探求中国社会发展规律 ,是新中国建立后第一部系统的中国古代经济史著作。他的史学观点和治学经验 。
Great Historians of the Modern Age An International Dictionary, edited chiefly by Lucian Boia, published by Greenwood Press, New York, collects the short biographies of 664 great historians all over the world since 1800, including 14 Chinese. LI Jian\|nong is among the 14 Chinese. The main contributions of LI Jian\|nong to historical science are: 1) outstanding achievements in the study of China's political history of the last hundred years. His writing The Political History of China, 1840-1928 has been translated into English, being extensively quoted and consulted by Chinese and foreign scholars; 2) opening up the study of China's ancient economic history. His writing The Drafts of the Economic Histories of Ancient China, searching after the law of development of China's society with historical materialism, is the first systematic writing of China's ancient economic history since the foundation of the People's Republic of China. His viewpoints of history and experience of doing scholarly research are worth for later scholars to learn.
