Humanoid robots,by virtue of anthropomorphic interaction design, have been widely introduced into social con⁃texts and,in practice, exhibit a form of otherness. This otherness can be analyzed on three levels:functional attribution of behav⁃ior, normative mutual recognition, and ethical appeal.Analysis shows that although humanoid robots can elicit ascriptions of oth⁃erness, they lack the essential conditions for constituting intersubjective or ethical others—such as normative recognizability, emotional vulnerability, and moral responsiveness. To address this tension, the paper proposes a framework of bounded other⁃ness, advocating the delineation of humanoid robots’social roles through ontological denial, role delimitation, and ethical immu⁃nization mechanisms,in order to preserve moral clarity and a sense of personal responsibility in an era of deep technological inte⁃gration.
