This study integrates the intangible cultural heritage of tie-dye craftsmanship with art therapy theory to develop an innovative intervention pathway for individuals in the recovery phase of mental disorders.Grounded in Neuroscience and Aesthetics and embodied cognition frameworks, the research elucidates the multi-sensory activation mechanisms inherent in tie-dye processes:tactile stimulation during the binding phase enhances somatosensory activation, indigo fermentation-derived odor engage olfactory senses, and cultural metaphors embedded in visual patterns strengthen functional connectivity within the default mode network.A“phased”dynamic curriculum model is established to facilitate progressive art-based rehabilitation, while a“dual-core four-dimensional”collaborative network is constructed at the practical level, fostering a symbiotic ecosystem that bridges heritage preservation and therapeutic application.Empirical findings demonstrate that tie-dye craftsmanship, through its bidirectional regulatory functions balancing randomness and structure, exhibits unique therapeutic advantages in emotional regulation, cognitive restructuring, and social connectivity. This approach offers an innovative solution for mental health rehabilitation, integrating cultural richness with clinical efficacy.
