摘要
打破地区间市场分割、实现供应链有效布局,是畅通国内大循环的关键所在。基于我国上市公司前五大供应商和客户数据,构建“上市公司—目标城市—年份”数据集,探讨官员异地交流对于企业跨区域市场整合的作用。研究发现,市委书记异地调任后,其现任地的上市公司在前任所在地的大客户数量显著增加。机制分析表明,企业向外扩张面临的信息和制度性成本越高,官员异地交流对企业供应链扩张的推动效应越强。进一步地,政企关联越紧密,官员交流效应越强。本文结果表明,以地方主政官员交流为载体的地区间联系可能成为企业突破跨地区市场进入壁垒的重要途径。
Integrating interregional markets to achieve an efficient spatial distribution of supply chains is essential for ensuring smooth domestic economic circulation.Leveraging a dataset of the top five suppliers and customers of listed companies in China,this paper constructs a firm-city-year dataset and explores how interregional transfers of subnational leadership facilitate market integra-tion across regions.We find that after a municipal party secretary is transferred to a new region,listed companies in the secretary's current location experience a significant increase in major customers from his/her previous location.This effect is significantly larger when firms are faced with higher informational and policy barriers when entering new markets.Furthermore,the positive impact of leadership transfers is more pronounced when the company has stronger ties to local governments.The results highlight those interre-gional connections,facilitated by local officials,provide an important pathway for enterprises to overcome barriers to market entry in different regions.
