摘要
天涯社区是网络论坛时代较具影响力的中文在线社区之一,亦是为数不多的存续至今的大型网络论坛。其在2023年4月关闭引发了持续的网友记忆,是考察媒介记忆和互联网历史的生动个案。本文采用主题演化分析法,对4629条/篇/组记忆文本进行LDA主题模型分析发现,天涯社区记忆在网络空间的书写具有偶发性。天涯社区的物理形态虽然关闭,但其社会生命可以在社会记忆的书写中绵延。不少网友追忆天涯社区中的热门帖文、八卦文章和舆论交锋事件,且对网络文学的阅读经历尤其难忘。这表明,对典型内容的记忆构成网络论坛记忆的主题,有别于对其他形态媒介的记忆。网友在比较中追忆天涯社区独特的网络论坛模式,实则是怀念网络论坛所体现的中国早期互联网精神。在数字记忆空间中,多元记忆主体进入天涯社区记忆的书写行列,提示我们思考数字时代媒介记忆的记忆者及记忆内容的生产等问题。本文为研究网络论坛记忆和中国早期互联网提供了“切片”,亦是死亡媒介记忆研究的一个微观比较样本,启发我们在媒介记忆研究与互联网历史研究的交汇点思考数字时代媒介记忆的激活。
Tianya Community stands as one of the most influential Chinese online communities from the era of internet forums,and it is also one of the few large network forums that have survived until now.The platform's closure in April 2023 has triggered a wave of nostalgia among netizens,making it a compelling case for examining media memory and internet memory.This paper employs thematic evolution analysis and utilizes LDA topic modeling on 4,629 memories texts.The research found that the inscription of memories in Tianya Community possesses contingency in cyberspace.Despite the cessation of the Community's physical existence,its social vitality persists and“endures”through social memories committed to writing.Netizens mainly reminisce about popular posts,gossip articles,and public opinion clashes within Tianya Community,with particularly memorable experiences related to online literature.This suggests that memories of typical content form the themes of forum memory,distinguishing it from memories associated with other media forms.Additionally,netizens reflect on the unique forum model of Tianya Community in comparison to other platforms,which essentially embodies a nostalgia for the spirit of early Chinese internet culture represented by online forums.In the digital memory landscape,diverse memory subjects have contributed to the narrative of Tianya Community's memory,prompting us to consider the role of memory keepers in the digital age and the production of memory content.This paper provides a“slice”for the study of internet forum memory and the early Chinese Internet,serving as a micro-comparative sample for dead media memory research,inspiring further reflection on the activation and“enduration”of media memory in the digital age at the intersection of media memory research and Internet history research.
