New Approaches to Anthropological Knowledge Production in the Digital Age

摘要民族志研究是人类学知识生产的特有方式,是人类学家身在田野并以主位的立场开展文化解释的实践。数字时代的到来,不仅在日常生活中重塑了人们的生活方式,更在深层次上引发人们价值观念的巨大变迁,使人们的生活空间呈现出实体空间与虚拟空间并存的二元特性。人类学知识生产无法回避数字时代的自身特质,必然在与时代相适应中培育出新方式。人类学家要积极关注网络平台这一虚拟空间的社会性,以及同样具备人类学家所关注的田野属性。以抖音短视频为代表的网络平台,其实就是一个多元化的社会生活空间,通过对其施以深入观察,人类学者可以更加全面、细致地理解处于“网络”社会中的人及其生活、价值理念,从这个角度来说,数字时代人类学知识生产方式不是现代人类学知识生产传统的断裂,而是以新的方式和载体接续和实现知识生产方式的传统发明。 Ethnographic research is an endemic method by which anthropological knowledge can be produced. It is the practice ofanthropologists being in the field and interpreting culture from a subjective stance. The advent of the digital age has not only reshapedpeople’s lifestyles but has also triggered a significant change in their values at a deeper level, making people's living space present thedualistic characteristics of coexistence of physical space and virtual space. The own idiosyncrasies of the digital age cannot be avoided inanthropological knowledge production, which means it must develop new methods of doing things that fit the needs of the day.Anthropologists should actively pay attention to the social nature of different online platforms in the virtual world, as they also possess thefieldwork attributes that anthropologists already focus on.Online platforms, represented by apps such as TikTok, are in fact diversified livingspaces for society. By closely observing these platforms, anthropologists can gain a more comprehensive and detailed understanding ofpeople in the digital era, and their lives and values in the "network" society. From this perspective, the method of anthropological knowledgeproduction during the digital age is not a break from the traditional methods but rather a continuation of these traditional methods throughnovel approaches.
