摘要
传统意义上仅把工匠概念理解为从事手工劳作的人一言以蔽之,亦可能有所简单化。梳理自古希腊到文艺复兴时期的工匠概念,实则主要蕴含摹仿理念的技艺制作者以及依赖经验的制作知识的实践者——这两种各属柏拉图和亚里士多德思想中的工匠概念之分野与融合,经基督中世纪的承继延至文艺复兴时期,若干工匠已逐渐成为掌握实用数学知识的实践者,在经验与实用知识之间寻求精确性的融合。
In current research on western craftsmanship,the concept of craftsman should be a core one that needs historical review,but it is seldom explored specifically in the academic world.Traditionally,the concept of craftsman is simply understood as a person engaged in manual labor.Based on the classic literature of intellectual history,the conceptual implication of craftsman from ancient Greece to the Renaissance actually mainly contains the skilled maker who imitates idea and the practitioner who,relying on experience,applies practical knowledge.Those two concepts respectively belong to the Platonic and Aristotelian traditions,and their separation and fusion continued through the Christian Middle Ages to the Renaissance.Some artisans gradually became practitioners of practical mathematical knowledge,seeking a blend of precision between experience and practical knowledge.
