摘要
复制研究通过抽象化和拓展性的复制检验了当前公共管理理论和实践的边界条件,以及抽象化和拓展性的复制,延展了公共管理领域的知识边界,增强了外部效度。相较既有研究,本文旨在回答“如何进行公共管理复制研究的设计及应对相应的挑战”,以及“如何基于复制研究的评价标准提升既有公共管理研究成果的价值”两个核心议题。首先,解析了测量与分析审查、数据再分析、精准复制、概念复制、经验抽象和抽象与拓展六种复制研究的类型,以及复制研究评价的一般性准则和RNICE模型。在此基础上,通过“解剖”一项准复制实证研究,探讨了高质量复制研究的设计与准则,并进一步讨论了复制研究中群体选择对代表性的要求,情境变化对匹配度的冲击,对于相异结果的恰当解释,以及对于跨方法论复制的挑战。高质量的复制研究应“像”原始研究,也应更“不像”原始研究。复制研究应最大程度在非“变化”的部分与原始研究保持一致,同时在“变化”的部分尽可能与原始研究形成差异,以满足内部效度和外部效度的要求。高质量的公共管理复制研究对于讲好“中国故事”和建构“中国话语”具有积极启示。
Replication study enhances the external validity of current public management theories and practices by examining their boundary conditions and conducting general and extensive replications.In comparison with existing studies,this paper addresses two core questions:“how to design and tackle challenges in public management replication study”and“how to enhance the value of existing public management study outcomes based on replication research evaluation criteria.”Firstly,this paper analyzes six types of replication studies,including checking measures and analysis,reanalysis of data,exact replication,conceptual replication,empirical generalization,and generalization and extension.It also provides general guidelines and employs the RINCE model to evaluate replication studies.Building upon this foundation,the paper dissects a highquality quasi-replication empirical study,explores the design and criteria for high-quality replication study,and further discusses the requirements for representativeness in sample selection,the impact of contextual changes on matchability,appropriate interpretations of divergent results,and challenges in cross-methodology replication.High-quality replication research should aim to be both“like”and“unlike”the original study.It should strive to align as closely as possible in the non-“changing”aspects with the original research while introducing meaningful differences in the“changing”elements to meet the requirements of internal and external validity.High-quality public management replication research offers valuable insights for storytelling about“China”and constructing a distinct“Chinese discourse.”
