Digital Economy Enables Manufacturing Export Technology Upgrading:Internal Mechanism and Empirical Evidence

摘要在新一轮科技革命与产业变革中,激发数字经济对制造业出口技术升级的赋能效果,已成为中国加快建设制造强国、实现高质量发展的必由之路。本文构建数字经济影响制造业出口技术升级的理论分析框架,基于2011—2020年中国286个城市的面板数据,对数字经济赋能制造业出口技术升级的具体效应及中介路径进行实证检验。研究发现:(1)数字经济发展显著推动了制造业出口技术升级,其作用机制包括人力资本机制和技术溢出机制。(2)相对于成渝城市群和中原城市群,长三角城市群、珠三角城市群、京津冀城市群、长江中游城市群的数字经济发展对制造业出口技术升级的推动作用更显著。(3)在三种空间权重矩阵下,数字经济对周边城市的制造业出口技术升级均具有正向空间溢出效应。本文的研究对推动中国制造业高水平“走出去”具有重要意义,也为充分释放数字经济潜能提供了理论依据与政策参考。 In the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation,stimulating the enabling effect of digital economy on the technological upgrading of manufacturing export has become the way for China must to take to accelerate building the construction of manufacturing power and achieve high-quality development.This paper builds a theoretical analysis framework on the impact of digital economy on manufacturing export technology upgrading.It empirically tests the specific effects and intermediary paths of digital economy-enabled manufacturing export technology upgrading based on the panel data of 286 cities in China from 2011 to 2020.The results show that:(1)The development of digital economy significantly promotes the technology upgrading of manufacturing export,and its mechanism includes human capital mechanism and technology spillover mechanism;(2)Compared with Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration and Zhongyuan urban agglomeration,the development of digital economy in the Yangtze River Delta,Pearl River Delta,Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration has a more significant promoting effect on the export technology upgrading of manufacturing industry;(3)Under the three spatial weight matrices,digital economy has a positive spatial spllover effect on the manufacturing export technology upgrading of surrounding cities.This paper is of great significance to promote China's manufacturing industry to"go global"at a high level and also provides theoretical basis and policy reference for fully releasing the potential of digital economy.
