摘要
《荒潮》是中国科幻作家陈楸帆的长篇科幻小说,小说成功地塑造了女主人公“小米”这一重要女性形象。笔者对《荒潮》及其英译本进行了文本细读,发现相对于原文,译文在叙述声音、叙述视角和自由间接引语等方面都有些调整,在一定程度上改变了原文叙事所体现的性别权力关系。女性主义叙事学关注话语层次的性别政治,本文尝试在该理论视角的观照下,探讨隐含译者的叙事调整如何对故事层面的“身体政治”、权力关系以及女性人物形象的塑造产生影响,并造成译文与原文的性别政治立场偏离,在此基础上讨论偏离背后的原因。
Waste Tide(English translation of Huang Chao)is contemporary Chinese science fiction writer Chen Qiufan's debut novel,which created an important female character Mimi.A close comparative reading on the Chinese original and the English translation reveals that the translation varies from the origial in terms of narratological voice,point of view as well as free indirect discourse,to a certain extent that it has changed the original representation of gender politics.The article draws upon feminist narratological theories to explain how the implied translator's voice adjusts itself into the narrative so that the body politics and power relations in the story as well as the image of Mimi changed accordingly.It further points out the different reading stances represented in the original and English narratives,and discusses the possible reasons behind it.
