摘要
一部运河史,即是半部中华文明史。中国大运河肇始于春秋时期,形成于隋代,发展于唐、宋之际,定型在元、明、清三朝。现代意义上的运河研究始自20世纪初,经过近百年的发展逐渐走向壮大。运河对中国整个人文社会的影响,无论就其范围还是程度而言,都要比已有研究涵盖面复杂宽广得多。要全面深入地阐释这些复杂现象,应该跳出单一学科的限制,从跨学科角度作综合的系统性研究,在此基础上形成一门“运河学”。运河学研究囊括很多学科理论与研究方法,跨越时空,涵盖过去、现在和未来,是内涵极其丰富、外延极其广阔的学问。
A history of the Grand Canal of China is half the history of Chinese civilization.The Grand Canal of China was founded in the Spring and Autumn period and formed in the Sui Dynasty.It was developed in the Tang and Song Dynasties,and was stereotyped in the Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties.The canal research in the modern sense began at the beginning of the last century,and gradually grew stronger after nearly 100 years of development.The influence of the canal on the whole humanities and society in China is much broader and wider than the existing studies.In order to explain these complicated phenomena in a comprehensive and thorough way,we should jump out of the limitation of a single subject and make a comprehensive and systematic study from a cross disciplinary point of view.On this basis,a"Canal-Ology"should be formed.The study of canals includes many academic theories and research methods,spanning space and time,covering the past,present and future,and is an extremely rich and extensive knowledge.
