摘要
本文对机器翻译在化工科技领域的适用性和局限性进行考察。研究发现,机器翻译对基本结构转换、语法规则表达、信息完整传递具有一定优势;但在术语匹配、句序调整、语义切分、精简表达、信息填补、语篇衔接等方面存在诸多问题,这也成为译后编辑需重点关注的内容。本文最后从译前编辑、术语细分、翻译记忆库与译后编辑案例库建设等方面对相关领域的人机合译实践提出建议。
In this paper,the applicability and limitations of machine translation in the field of chemical technology are investigated in a case study of academic literature translation from the Key Laboratory of Green Chemical Engineering Process of Ministry of Education.It is found that machine translation has certain advantages in terms of basic structure conversion,grammar expression,and information transmission.However,there are also limitations in terminology matching,sentence order adjustment,semantic segmentation,simplified expression,information filling,discourse cohesion,etc.,which have become the focus of post-editing.Finally,suggestions are put forward on the practice of human-machine translation in related fields from the aspects of pre-editing,terminology subdivision,construction of translation memory and database for post-editing cases.
