摘要
麦金太尔认为:语言根植于传统,特定的语言是特定传统的自我表达;现代语言脱离了传统,由此造成一系列语言现代性问题;虽然不同传统间存在语言翻译的困难,但译不准恰恰为语言的创新和发展提供了条件。这些语言理论是麦金太尔美德伦理思想在其语言观上的投射,分别对应于他关于道德与传统间关系的基本主张、他的现代道德批判理论以及他为打通不同道德传统间的隔阂而作出的尝试。基于麦金太尔语言理论与美德伦理思想的同构性,对其语言理论进行梳理和分析,既能为当下的语言现代性问题提供必要的反思,又能为考察其美德伦理思想提供一种崭新的视角。
MacIntyre believes that language is rooted in tradition,and a specific language is the self-expression of a specific tradition;Modern language breaks away from tradition,which leads to a series of problems of language modernity. Although there are difficulties in language translation between different traditions,inaccuracy in translation just facilitates the innovation and development of language. These language theories are the reflection of MacIntyre’s virtue ethics on his language view. They correspond to his basic ideas on the relationship between morality and tradition,his modern moral criticism theory and his attempts to open up the gap between different moral traditions. Based on the isomorphism of Macintyre’s language theory and virtue ethics thought,combing and analyzing his language theory can not only provide necessary reflection on the current issue of language modernity,but also provide a new perspective for investigating his virtue ethics thought.
