摘要
被视为改革“蓄水池”的存续企业一经从母体分离就走向寻找自我的道路;然而,对于存续企业如何理解“我们是谁”这一身份问题,现有文献并未给出充分的解释。本文从组织身份视角出发,采用纵向单案例研究解构了存续企业20年的组织身份变革过程。研究发现:(1)存续企业基于“压力—响应—生成”逻辑形成组织身份变革机制;(2)存续企业组织身份变革过程呈现动态性:压力情境决定响应模式,响应模式匹配生成模式;(3)存续企业组织身份变革路径的独特性表现为身份属性变化的显著性,以及变革机制的复杂性与动态性。本文创新性地提出并解析了存续企业的组织身份变革机制模型,贡献于存续企业成长变革和组织身份理论的相关研究,为存续企业的可持续发展提供了有益借鉴。
Remainder enterprises(REs)are regarded as the reform reservoir,and once separated from their parent company,they start the path of exploring own identity.However,extant literature provides no sufficient explanations on how REs understand the question of"who we are".Drawing on the perspective of organizational identity,we conduct a longitudinal single case study to investigate the dynamic process of organizational identity change in REs.Our study results in three key findings.(1)The organizational identity change mechanism of REs is grounded on the logic of"pressure-response-generation".(2)The process of organizational identity change of REs is dynamic:the pressure contexts determine the response patterns,and in turn the response patterns match the generation patterns.(3)The uniqueness of the organizational identity change path of REs is manifested by the significance of the change of identity attributes and the complexity and dynamics of the identity change mechanism.Our study refines the mechanism model of organizational identity change of REs and contributes to the literature of the growth and change of REs and the organizational identity theory.Also,we provide some useful insights for REs’sustainable development.
