摘要
教师语言意识在二语教师教育领域备受关注,而英语媒介教学(EMI)情境下的学科教师语言意识却未引起研究者重视。鉴于此,本研究以一名EMI学科教师为研究对象,探究该教师通过与一名英语教师合作授课后其语言意识的发展情况。研究采用课堂录像、访谈等方式收集数据,并运用社会文化理论解读合作授课如何促进EMI学科教师语言意识的发展。研究发现,EMI学科教师的语言意识呈现积极发展趋势,具体表现为对语言与内容有机融合的关注、对学生语言难点的关注、对学生提供适时语言支架以及课堂教学语言的策略性选择等。研究结果对EMI教师发展和EMI教学研究都有重要启示。
Teachers’ language awareness has attracted much attention in the field of second language teacher education, but the subject teacher’s language awareness in the context of English-medium instruction(EMI) has not attracted researchers’ attention. Therefore, this study takes an EMI subject teacher as the research object to explore the development of his language awareness through co-teaching with an English teacher. Classroom video recordings and interviews are used to collect data.The results are then interpreted from a sociocultural perspective on how co-teaching promotes the development of the EMI subject teacher’s language awareness. It is found that the subject teacher’ s language awareness shows a positive development trend, which is embodied in the attention to the integration of language and content, the attention to students’ language difficulties, the timely language support for students, and the strategic choice of classroom teaching language. The research findings have important implications for EMI teacher development and EMI teaching research.
