摘要
1861年倪维思传教抵达登州,对登州的地理位置、气候、环境、土壤、物产、人文等进行了考察,认为当地气候宜人,冬暖夏凉,物产丰富,与其美国家乡相差不多,但所产水果口感差,产生了引种西洋果树于登州,改良当地水果的理念。分析了倪维思农业传教科技兴农的思想及成功引入西洋果树的理论与实践。
John Livingstone Nevius arrived in Dengzhou in 1861.Through the investigation of the local geography,climate,environment,soil,products and humanities of Dengzhou,he believed that the local climate was pleasant,warm in winter and cool in summer,and rich in products.It was similar to his American hometown,but the fruits tasted bad.So he put forward the idea of introducing western fruit trees and improving local fruits.This paper analyzed John Livingstone Nevius′s thought of promoting agriculture by science and technology and the theory and practice of successfully introducing western fruit trees.
