摘要
空符号与实符号或一般符号相对,有两种基本类型:能指符号载体为空的空符号和所指为空的空符号。空符号具有开放性的特征,它赋予受话人较大的意义阐释空间。文学作品中主要有三种类型的空符号,通过分析空符号能指的可识别性与所指的不确定性,指出文学的艺术性与活力很大程度上在于读者对空符号的识别与解读。
Blank-signs,as opposed to concrete signs or ordinary signs,can be divided into two major types:the blank-signs with empty sign vehicles on the part of the signifier and the blank-signs with the empty signified.Blank-signs are characterized by openness,which endows the addressee with large room for the interpretation of meaning.There are three types of blank-signs in literature.By analyzing how the signifier is identified and why the signified is frequently indefinite,this paper concludes that the art and vitality of literature are to a large extent subject to the readers’competence of identifying and interpreting the blank-signs.
