摘要
新文科的理念,也如同新工科、新医科等学科理念一样,已经进入了中国的高校,它对中国的外语学科建设和人才培养模式产生了重大的影响,带来巨大的挑战,同时也意味着外语学科的新的转机。就其实质,外语学科隶属于人文学科,但长期以来却游离于中国的人文学科主流,又远未达到推进中国人文学术国际化的水平,因而一直处于中国人文学科的边缘地位。新文科概念的提出就是要改变这一既定的格局,使外语学科跻身人文学科的主流,尤其是在推进中国人文学术国际化和引领国际前沿学术潮流方面,外语学科的学者应该大有作为。就这一点而言,新文科理念的提出赋予外国语言文学学者一个广阔的多学科和跨学科视野,我们应不辜负时代的使命和国际学界的期待。
The idea of New Liberal Arts,like those of New Engineering Disciplines and of New Medical Disciplines,has already entered China’s institutions of higher learning,raising a severe challenge against and impact on the traditional mode of foreign language and literature disciplinary construction and personnel cultivation.But it also indicates a sort of new transition.The discipline of foreign languages and literatures in China is,in essence,affiliated with humanities.But for a long time,it functioned outside of the mainstream humanities.It has by no means reached the plane of promoting the internationalization of China’s humanities,thus functioning in a marginal position.The proposal of the New Liberal Arts is to change this established framework,enabling the discipline of foreign languages and literatures to be among the mainstream of China’s humanities.It will undoubtedly play an inevitable role in promoting the internationalization of China’s humanities and play a leading role in international cutting edge research areas.In this sense,this proposal has provided us scholars of foreign languages and literatures with a broad interdisciplinary horizon,and we should live up to the mission of the time and the expectation of international scholarship.
