Phenylethyl resorcinol is a potent inhibitor of tyrosinase with strong antioxidant activity.It was officially approved by the National Food and Drug Administration as a cosmetic raw material in 2012.The article summarizes physicochemical properties,physiological activity,mechanism of action,research and application progress and safety of phenylethyl resorcinol,thereby providing reference for its clinical application.
